Alex sat down with a newspaper he had recieved from an old servant who had sent him the paper in the mail. He poked at the slop they called food here at Preston. The old servant sent Alex the paper every week something important happened back at Dublin. Alex looked at the front and saw a sticky note. 'Check the 4th Page. John.' "Hmm......Why does he want me to check the Obituaries...."He said and slowly flipped the pages. The apple he had been eating fell from his hand and hit the ground. He set the paper down and closed his eyes looking down.

Blake came skipping into the cafeteria, hoping to find something vegetarian and yummy (like that was possible) to eat, and someone to eat it with. She went up to the line and saw that there was nothing good up there other than a measley apple and potato. Deciding that the apple was a lot better than the potato she grabbed it. One down, one to go! she thought to herself. Looking around, she was about to give up hope when she noticed Alex sitting at a table by himself, looking rather troubled. She skipped over, unable to get out of the habit and stood by his table. "What's up?" she asked. "Food got ya down?" she asked lightly, noticing the half eaten apple that was now lying on the ground.

"Nah. There was a worm. That'd at least be a bit better." He muttered the last part silently to himself. "It's just what happened back at home." He said shrugging. He bent down and picked up the half eaten apple and lobbed it to the right and it hit a kid in the face and it fell into the trash can. Alex sighed and grabbed the paper, he was thinking of tearing up, and slid it towards Blake and sighed once again and looked out the few windows in the cafeteria.
