"Lucky shot" he admitted to Ginevra with a slight smile. Truthfully it was, he was ‘aiming’ for the trash can with little hope it would make it in, and luckily it did just that. One hand raised to scratch goofily at the thin strap that held his mask to his face as his date looked him up and down then said something about his shoes. The smile on his face widened to a lopsided grin as he rocked from his toes to the heel of his foot and back again. “Only thing I could find to match this dang suit” he laughed staring down at his shoes then back up at her masked face.

Ginevra laughed when he scratched at his mask but she was also laughing from the explination he had given her about his converses. She doubted it was the only thing that matched but she didn't actually like the fact that he didn't totally dress up. "I really wanna be wearing my runners right now. she said randomly grinning at the thought. After a bit she looked up at Mark and opened her mouth to speak, "Wanna dance?" she asked holding out her hand for him to take it as it had just come to a slow song. She didn't really care if he took it or not she had just watched to many movies where that's how it had been done.

Before Blake even heard Alex's reply - if he did reply, that is - she heard something more prominant. A slow song playing loud enough to hear where they were standing. She struggled to keep her head and keep unembarrassed and friendly. Blake had more questions now, though. Should I be asking him to dance, or should I wait for him? was the most dominant one. She watched the dancers break apart from their big groups and set off in pairs of two, dancing slowly along with the song. She looked to see if Ginevra had found Mark yet, and if they were out dancing. It seemed as if she were looking everywhere but at Alex, the person she wanted to be looking at the most.

"It wasn't that great. Paramore was there....A few other bands were there that I watched but nothing really amazing. I want to go there this year though." He said shrugging, because on a badder note, he might not get to go when he despretly wants to. He heard the sudden change of the tempo of the music. "Would you care to dance Blake?" He asked her yawning and holding out his hand with his watch. He scanned the room quickly for Ginerva and Mark. "Hmmmm......" He muttered quietly. He jumped and looked around. "I dont see a familiar mask. Another thing about the beak mask. I got it because I knew no one else would get it." He said laughing.

Blake's heart seemed to have missed a beat when Alex asked her to dance, and once again struggled to keep a clear mind as she took hold of his hand. "Yeah, the mask is definitely...unique," she told him as she looked up at it. "I think everyone will know that it's you underneath there, though," she added. She smiled. "I don't see any familiar masks around either," Blake told him. She certainly had a lot to say for someone who was so quietly embarrassed. See? she told herself. Nothing wrong with this, even though it's kind of like heaven, she thought, her mind jumping out of her head for a second and letting itself do it's own thinking.

I am the luckiest guy he kept repeating mentally, gazing at Ginevra with an ever so growing sense of giddyness. A quick nod was followed by grasp of her out stretched hand after she asked to dance. Usually he thought guys ask for the dance, but what the heck, who cares who asks who. The tempo of the song was slow and sweet, he noticed with a mental frown. That’s bad, he thought masking his uncertainty and confusion of what to do with another grin as he leaned in toward Ginevra and murmured softly, “Hey can I tell you a secret?”

Ginevra was holding in a laugh at his confused when she asked him to dance and she was taken by suprise when he leaned in closer to her. Her breathing went a little faster but she just blushed and took a deep breath before grinning at his words, "of course you can." she told him with a slight nod as she looked into his eyes, curious of what he was going to say.

Alex lead Blake over to the dance floor. He knew the song and was surprised that it was playing. He set his hands on Blake's hips and started moving back, left, and right. He sang along to the song quietly staring off into space, "It's been ten years and a thousand tears, look at the mess I'm in. A broken nose and a broken heart, an empty bottle of Gin." He said continuing to sing it quietly. He blinked for a while and opened his eyes looking at Blake. "Hey thanks for coming with me." He said randomly. He was having a pretty fun time, even though it was still about three hours until midnight.

Blake walked with Alex along the dance floor. She looked around at everyone, to see if there were any of those huge dance circles of people who didn't get dates. Those were always fun, as she had been in them for every dance she had been to. She hadn't exactly realized it yet, but this was her first slow dance. She placed her arms around Alex's shoulders and watched as he sang along with the song, grinning as they swayed back and forth. "No problem. To tell you the truth, I'm glad you asked," Blake replied truthfully. "But after this song, we have to kick it up a notch, this party is way to quiet!" she added. It was the only way that she could have a better time, if possible.
